The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has symphatised with the victims of flood at Zogirma village in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State and donated the sum of N50 million to cushion the effects.
It could be recalled that floods had recently ravaged the area and rendered over 200 households homeless in the village.
Commensurate with the people on Thursday, the governor assured them of government readiness to support them and ensure that they resume their normal life.
The governor equally approved the renovation of the District Head’s palace as well as the upgrading of Government Day Secondary School in the area to Government Secondary School (Boarding).
Gov. Idris expressed appreciation to the people of the area for supporting his administration to enable it deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of the state.
He also donated N10 million to the District Head to support the expansion and renovation of his palace.
Earlier, the District Head of Zogirma Mohammed Jambo Tele, thanked the governor for the visit and support to his domain, assuring that his subjects were ready to extend the necessary support to his administration to succeed.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Bunza Local Government Area, Hon. Zayyanu Shehu Bunza, expressed happiness for the concern shown to his people especially in this trying period.
He observed that the gesture would go a long way in bringing succour to the victims and cushioning the effects of the flood.
In his remarks, the Chairman, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Hon. Bello Yakubu Relisco said the agency would do its best to alleviate some of the suffering of the victims to enable them continue their normal activities.
The chairman presented to the victims 100 bags of rice, 100 bags of surghum and millet, tomatoes and others food items.
