Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has been honoured with the prestigious 2024 Voice of Africa (VOA) Canada Torchbearer Award for his outstanding leadership and commitment to boosting agriculture, food security, and infrastructural development in the State.
The Governor was presented with the Award in Toronto, Canada.
Governor Umaru Bago who expressed gratitude for the recognition and honour, emphasized his commitment to partnering with National and International stakeholders, especially the Canadian Business Community, to promote food security and economic opportunities in Niger State.
The VOA Canada is a Toronto based Media Public Relations and Management Consulting firm that promotes African content initiatives and facilitates collaborations between Africa and Canadian Organisations.
The VOA Canada through its Torchbearer Award recognizes individuals and organizations making significant contributions to Black Communities worldwide and this Year’s award presented to Governor Bago is as a result of his efforts in advancing agricultural development and good governance which has earned him the notable accolade.
Under the leadership of Governor Bago, Niger State has seen transformative changes in agriculture, enhanced food security and empowerment of local communities.
Governor Umaru Bago’s administration has also initiated vital infrastructural projects that are improving connectivity and boosting economic prospects across the State.
