Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has received a delegation from the European Union in furtherance of an earlier discussion on partnership in the area of Education, Agriculture, peace, and security.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba received the delegation at his Office in Minna.
He said the increasing population of Niger State and the need to improve on public institutions has made collaboration with cooperate organisations necessary.
The Governor specially highlighted the importance of Education, peace and security, pointing out that the present administration has made so many efforts and it’s not relenting in ensuring the citizens have access to quality education, in a secure society.
The Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union, Zissimos Vergos said their visit is aimed at deepening discussion for a sustainable partnering with the state in the area of education, security, and agriculture as well as to visit the state-owned universities to discuss further partnership and opportunities.
He used the opportunity to extend the condolences of the European Union to the government and people of Niger State over the recent Mokwa flood disaster.
