Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has received the Federal government delegation on a condolence visit to former Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu over the loss of his mother Hajiya Jamila Aliyu.
The farmer Governor received the delegation at the Governor’s lodge, Government House, Minna.
The delegation led by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, also had the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alh. Mohammed Idris, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Ustev among others as members of the delegation.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago accompanied the delegation to the family residence of Dr. Babangida Aliyu for the condolence visit.
While sympathizing with Dr. Babangida Aliyu, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Hassan Hadejia on behalf of the Federal Government encouraged him to take solace in-the fact that the deceased lived a good life and that she will be remembered for all her contributions to the society.
In their separate words of comfort, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alh. Mohammed Idris, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation,Prof.Joseph Terlumun Ustev, reminded the former Governor that God gives and takes life and that he should accept the demise of his mother as the act of God.
The farmer Governor who appreciated the visit,said it is a proof that the federal government values the contributions of the former Governor in nation-building.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul and for Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
