HAJIYA ASABE SULE GARBA VISITS IBBUL, DONATES LATE PROF. NUHU ANGO’S BOOKS TO THE UNIVERSITY

The Wife of Late Professor Nuhu Ango Hajiya Asabe Sule Garba, visited Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL) under the auspices of Nuhu Ango Foundation to donate a collection of books authored by her late husband to the university.

Speaking during the presentation, Hajiya Asabe Sule Garba emphasized that IBBUL was home to her late husband, describing the institution as the most suitable place for his scholarly works to be preserved and utilized.

She stated that the books would serve as invaluable academic resources for students and researchers, ensuring that Professor Ango’s intellectual contributions continue to inspire future generations.

She further noted that the Nuhu Ango Foundation(NAF) remains open to collaboration and support in furthering educational, research initiatives and Philanthropic activities.

Receiving the books on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Muhammad Aliyu Bello, commended Hajiya Asabe Garba and the foundation for their thoughtful contribution.

Professor Aliyu Bello highlighted the importance of Professor Ango’s works, noting that they would significantly enhance research and learning within the university.

He also assured the foundation of IBBUL’s commitment to preserving and promoting the intellectual legacies of its scholars.

Delivering a goodwill message, the representative of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Usman Muhammad Chiji, lauded the initiative, stating that Professor Ango was a beacon of knowledge whose contributions to academic and public discourse remain invaluable.

He also highlighted the philanthropic efforts of the Nuhu Ango Foundation, noting that it had earlier supported over 60 widows with food and cash donations and had also visited a leprosarium to donate food items and clothing.

Comrade Chiji emphasized that these efforts were in line with upholding the generous and humanitarian legacy of the late professor, urging others to follow in his footsteps.

Also In his goodwill message, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Professor Aidelokhai Dennis, described late Professor Ango as an exemplary academia whose impact on the faculty and the university was profound.

He emphasized that Professor Ango lived a life worthy of emulation, having mentored numerous students and contributed significantly to the growth of the faculty and the University at large.

In his Closing Remarks,the Registrar of IBBUL, Alhaji Idris Sale Kusherki who appreciated Hajiya Asabe Garba and the foundation for keeping the legacy of her late husband alive and their noble gesture.

He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and assured that the donated books would be well-preserved and made readily available to students and researchers.

The visit and book donation mark a significant step in honoring the legacy of late Professor Nuhu Ango, ensuring that his scholarly contributions continue to benefit academia and society for years to come.
