The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, has joined millions of well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond to celebrate the 84th birthday of its distinguished Visitor and former Military President, His Excellency General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Registrar, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff, and Students of the University, felicitated with General Babangida, describing him as a charismatic elder statesman whose vision and contributions have left an indelible mark on the nation’s political and educational development.
The statement noted that General Babangida’s “visionary and political wisdom in the development of Nigeria will remain a blessing for this generation and future generations,” adding that his legacy as a patriot committed to the Nigerian project is firmly established in the country’s history.
IBBU Lapai particularly acknowledged the former Military President’s role in advancing education, praising his achievements in repositioning the sector, which continue to attract commendation nationwide.
“IBB University, Lapai will continue to celebrate your leadership style, especially in the development of education with generational credentials,” the message read.
The University wished General Babangida continued sound health and many more prosperous years as he continues to offer state man counsel towards the growth of the nation.
