Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC, has commenced tracking of phase seven of the Constituency and Executive Projects across Niger State.
A tracker from the Commission Sai’du Yahaya, confirmed this during the tracking exercise in Minna.
He said about eighty projects would be tracked across various sectors, including education, health, water resources, power, empowerment, agriculture amongst others in the state.
Sai’du Yahaya added that the projects which valued at thirteen point nine billion naira, commenced in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three across various sectors.
He affirmed that the commission is collaborating with stakeholders, such as the Nigeria Institute of Quality Surveyors to assess the projects to enable its recover any losses from contractors from projects found to be substandard.
Saidu Yahaya said the Nigeria Institute of Quality Surveyors is to provide expert valuation and assessment services to ensure that project specifications are met and that contractors deliver quality work, adding that the exercise would be carried out across the three Senatorial zones of the state.
The seven phase, involving one thousand five hundred projects with a total project value of six hundred and ten billion naira kick-started on November eighteen, in twenty two states.
The phase seven tracking exercise will cut across government intervention on Rural Electrification Agency (REA), National Primary Health Care Development Authority (NPHCDA), Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and Ecological Funds.
