A special prayer session has been held in honour of Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago to celebrate his 51st birthday.
The event held at the Government House Minna was put together by the Permanent Secretary Government House, Hajiya Hauwa Wali.
The event featured series of prayers where the Director General, Bureau for Islamic Affairs, Mal. Umar Faruk Abdullahi led other Islamic Scholars in offering prayers for the Governor.
Islamic Scholars at the event who described Umaru Bago as a visionary and selfless leader prayed to Allah to continue to protect and guide him as he continues in his quest to take Niger State to greater heights.
Students from various Islamic Schools across the State also took part in the event through recitations of the chapters of the Holy Quran.
Niger State Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba at the event remained thankful to Allah for keeping the Governor alive to achieve his goals and for his grace and guidance all through his endeavours.
Comrade Yakubu Garba described leadership as a gift from Allah who gives power to those he wishes with a call on all Nigerlites to continue to pray and support the administration of the Governor to be able to achieve the transformative drive of a new Niger.
He described Governor Umaru Bago as a true friend, a mentor and a pride to Niger State because of his giant strides in developing the State and re assured of his continued to the farmer Governor.
The Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago who was full of gratitude to Allah for adding another year to her husband and the special prayer session organised in his honour, said may Allah accept all the good prayers offered for him.
The Organiser of the Special prayer session and Permanent Secretary, Government House, Hajiya Hauwa Wali said the event was put together as a mark of respect to the farmer Governor and to honour him with a show of love, respect and gratitude to him for all his efforts in changing the narrative of the State.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Mairo Muhammad Mann in her own remarks described Governor as an exemplary leader who deserves to be supported by all.
While wishing the Governor a happy birthday, the Chairman, Niger State Universal Basic Educatuon Board, Mal Muhammad Baba Ibrahim described his 51st birthday as the arrival of a new dawn , adding that since the coming of the present administration, the Board has witnessed drastic growth.
The Governor was equally presented with a copy of the Holy Quran by the Dahiru Bauchi Foundation.
The leadership of the National Association of Niger State Students NANISS were also at the Government House Minna where they presented a birthday Cake and some exercise Books to the Governor and expressed their total support to the administration of the farmer Governor .
Permanent Secretary Government House, Hajiya Hauwa Wali who received the items on behalf of the Governor appreciated the leadership of NANISS for the gesture and re assured them of the farmer Governor’s continued efforts towards educational reforms.
