The Kebbi State Head of Service Alhaji Mallami Shakare has warned all the state civil servants against absenteeism and lateness to work.
The HoS gave the warning on Wednesday when he took an emergency tour of Ministries, Departments and Parastatals in the state.
He said the essence of the tour was to have a first hand information about the MDAs in the state with a view to supporting the workers to achieve the desired goals of efficiency and effectiveness in the service.
“This visit afforded me the opportunity to see for myself workers punctuality. It’s unfortunate that at about 9 to 10am some workers are yet to be in their offices, including some Permanent Secretaries, this calls for change of attitude,” he said.
Shekare advised the workers to do everything possible to complement the efforts of Kauran Gwandu towards workers especially that the governor was one of them and still identified with them.
He said: “The governor has approved N75,000 minimum wage for the state civil servants, N5,000 above the Federal Government’s own. This is a commendable effort that need to be reciprocated.
“No wonder, Kauran Gwandu was a unionist to the core, he was once an NUT Treasurer in the state, NUT Chairman in the state, National President, NUT and later National Vice President of NLC.
“Kauran Gwandu has special regards for workers and he has been saying it anytime he has the opportunity. Therefore, I urge workers to support him to succeed.”
