The Kebbi State Government has on Tuesday rejected a new salary table circulating on social media, describing it as malicious and misleading.
The State Head of Civil Service (HoS), Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena stated this in a statement issued to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
Garba-Bena said: “Our attention has been drawn to a table tagged: ‘Kebbi State State Civil Service Salary Structure & Allowance 2024….’ being circulating on social media that the Kebbi State Government has approved a new salary table for its workers.
“Therefore, we want to appeal to the state civil servants and the entire people of the state to disregard this purported table and patiently allow the state government to come up with an authentic and acceptable table.”
He noted that the state civil service appreciated the workers in the state as well as their various labour unions for their understanding, patience, and resilience and urged them to keep the flag flying.
While reminding the workers that their beloved Governor, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris was once a unionist and still a unionist, the head of service assured that government was working round the clock to ensure that the state civil servants smile.
“Let me use this medium to remind you that your beloved governor, the people’s governor was a unionist, who rose from local chapter to state and to federal levels, who through his hard work, dedication and commitment became the Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
“So, as the saying goes, ‘once a General always a General’. Kauran is still a unionist and he will never let you down,” he assured.
