Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has charged all intending pilgrims from Kebbi State be good ambassadors of the state and the country at large.
He stated this on Tuesday when he took an official visit to Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu Hajji Camp in Birnin Kebbi to beat farewell to the first batch of intending pilgrims from the state.
The governor advised the pilgrims to pray for the unity, peace, progress and stability of the country.
He reminded the pilgrims that their journey to the Holy land was to observe prayers and enjoy the fruits of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“I urge you people to use this opportunity to pray for your leaders, Kebbi State and Nigeria at large. You have to purify your minds and ensure that your journey to the Holy land is not for you to commit another sin.
“You should endeavour to perform all religious rites in accordance with prophetic injunctionon, you people should pray hard for yourselves, your families, relations, friends and well wishers,” he advised.
Also speaking, the 2024 Amir Hajji and former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Dakingari, expressed satisfaction over the magnificent development recorded in this year Hajji operations.
He applauded the Kebbi State Governor as well as the Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board for their commitment towards ensuring smooth exercise.
“I am seriously delighted for the support of this government in providing all the necessary needed items to the intending pilgrims.
“Let me use this medium to equally call on the pilgrims to hold their money very well as well as thier partners,” he said.
In a welcome address, the Chairman Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Yaro-Enabo thanked the Kebbi State Governor for supporting the board in achieving its set goals and objectives.
The chairman, who took the Governor round the premises of the camp said that all arrangements had been concluded for the take-off of the first batch of intending pilgrims.
“We have done all the necessary arrangements needed and screening will commence this night,” he added.
