Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has assured the holistic resolve of the state government to decisively deal with informants supplying information to bandits.
The governor gave the assurance on Saturday when he paid a sympathy visit to the people of Zogirma village, where some unknown gunmen killed three police officers at their duty post.
“I want to give a sound of warning to informants, who are supplying bandits with information about the activities of their own people for personal gains.
“They should either repent, else, face the music as there will be no hiding place for them in the state. They cannot hold our people to ransom, we are going to decisively and mercilessly deal with them.”
He added that his administration would no longer tolerate any act of indiscipline by criminal elements that jeopardise the lives of the masses and put people to unrest.
“The State Government is working hard to enact a law that will sentence informants to death.
“In our efforts to beef up security in this area, we have requested for the deployment for more security personnel to the area towards protecting lives and property of the people,” he assured.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Bunza Local Government Council, Zayyanu Shehu thanked the governor for the visit and urged him to sustain the tempo.
While describing the incident as an act of God Almighty, the council chairman appealed to his people to remain faithful in their creator, as He would never let them down.
The District Head of Bunza, Alhaji Tijjani Mohammed appreciated the governor for always coming to their aid, especially in trying period as this.
He also appealed to the governor to facilitate deployment of more security personnel to the area.
