The present administration in the state says it will continue to accord top priority to educational development.
The State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu disclosed this at the distribution of scholarship to 150 students in Gwandu Local Government Area.
The scholarship was distributed by Zonazo Foundation, sponsored by Alhaji Sanusi Umar Gwandu, held in Gwandu town.
Dr Idris, who was represented by the State Commissioner of Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga, commended Zonazo Foundation for its efforts in assisting the students and urged other well-to-do individuals to emulate the gesture.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mohammed Dangi Juli, pointed out that the Zonazo foundation has done a lot for the people of Gwandu local government especially in assisting the needy.
He urged the people of Gwandu local government to join hands together for the development of the area and the state at large.
On his part, the Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar commended Alhaji Sanusi Umar Gwandu for the gesture, which according to him, will boost the moral of the students.
Speaking earlier, the founder of Zonazo Foundation, Alhaji Sanusi Umar Gwandu, represented by Alhaji Bashar Yali Gwandu, pointed out that the foundation selected 150 students and assisted them with N20,000 each as scholarship, assuring that many more assistance would come in due course.
The occasion was attended by some top government officials, traditional rulers as well as friends and well wishers.
