The Coalition of Kebbi State Students’ Union under auspices of National Union of Kebbi State Students (NUKESS) has applauded the Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Dr Nasir Idris for his commitment towards urgent intervention in rescuing one of them from kidnappers’ den.
Mr Augustine Madubiya, a final year student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) was kidnapped by unknown gunmen recently.
The victim, Madubiya, is a final year student in the Department of Economics, taken away by the assailants.
Addressing journalists at the press center, Government House, the leader of the team and the National President, NUKESS, Comrade Isah Suleiman Libata said the urgent intervention of the Kebbi State Governor shows a clear sign of a good leader with good mission and vision.
“On behalf of the entire students’ community across tertiary institutions thank and appreciate the governor, security agencies, Vice-Chancellor, FUBK, and other relevant stakeholders for their efforts and tireless commitment in rescuing the student who was kidnapped and spent just few days in the hands of kidnappers.
“The timely rescue of the student without any ransom is a bold testament to the governor’s unwavering commitment to the security and well being of all residents.
“This is.not just a rescue mission but it is a reassurance to every parent, every student and every community that Kebbi State is in safe hands,” he said.
The unionist also expressed happiness and grateful while acknowledging the appointment of one of their own union leader, Hon. Mohammed Mohammed Majo as Special Adviser, Students’ Affairs, “Sir, we remained grateful for this position given to one of us.”
He then confirmed that the union had passed a vote of confidence on the leadership style of Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.
