The Lens Africa TV, has conferred a prestigious award on Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris in recognition of his outstanding performance in less than one and half years in office.
Speaking at the event shortly after receiving the award held at Water Christ Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, the governor expressed delight over the harmonious relationship existing between the North and the South.
He advised that such harmony should be maintained for the good of not only the two regions but also the entire nation.
Gov. Idris, who was represented by his Adviser on Political Matters and Power, Hon. Kabiru Sani-Giant, described the award as a moral booster to do more for his people.
The governor appreciated the Lens Africa TV for finding him worthy of the prestigious award.
Speaking specifically of his principal, Sani-Giant said Gov. Idris had brought positive transformation to Kebbi State more than the previous successive governors of the state.
The governor’s aide recalled that before His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu took over the mantle of leadership of the state, the state capital was more of a glorified Local Government Headquarter.
He, however, said, whoever visited Kebbi in the last one year and revisited the state now would certainly and glaringly identify the difference.
“His Excellency has transformed Kebbi State capital through the delivery of social amenities. He has upgraded roads in the city from single lane to double, from double lane to triple, with beautiful roundabouts and solar street lights,” he said.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, Lens Africa TV, Chief Oluwa Remi Oyilowo said their selection for the award was not by accident but by merit, assuring that careful assessment of the awardees contribution to human development was carried out.
He said the event was organised to uncover the beauty of Africa and make it public.
