The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and the people of the State on the occasion of this year’s Eid Maulud celebration.
In his congratulatory message, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him), Alhaji Usman described the birth of the Holy Prophet as a divine mercy and a profound blessing to all of humanity, which continues to illuminate the path of righteousness, peace and compassion for millions around the world.
The SSG emphasized that the Maulud is not merely a ceremonial celebration but a potent reminder for all Muslims to deeply reflect on the exemplary life of the Holy Prophet, his teachings, his unwavering faith in Allah and his impeccable character of honesty, tolerance, forgiveness and dedication to the welfare of the less privileged.
He called on the Muslim faithful to use this period to pray fervently for the continuous peace, unity and prosperity of Niger State and Nigeria at large. “In the spirit of this holy occasion, let us rededicate ourselves to the virtues of love, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence. Let us transcend our differences and work collectively towards building a more harmonious and progressive society, as exemplified by the Prophet (PBUH),” the SSG stated.
Alhaji Usman further urged citizens to support the policies and programmes of the present administration led by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, which are thoughtfully designed to harness the vast agricultural potential of the State, boost infrastructure, enhance security and improve the overall socio-economic well-being of all residents.
While rejoicing with the Muslim community, the SSG also commended the efforts of religious leaders, traditional rulers and security agencies for their sustained roles in promoting religious harmony and maintaining stability across the state.
