The National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Hajia Aisha K. Bura, and some of her national executive members paid a courtesy visit to the Defence Minister, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, MON, Mni, at the Defence Ministry headquarters in Abuja, to discuss areas of collaboration and the Improvement in the security of the country.
Comrade Bura in her speech, informed the Minister of the public ‘s positive discuss about the recent security improvement in the North East and other parts of the country, highlighting how this has allowed citizens to continue their daily activities with ease.
The Chairperson also commended the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, acknowledging its significant impact on national security and public confidence.
Some members of the delegation, who spoke said they were committed to supporting the Ministry of Defence to promote peace and enhance the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across Nigeria.
The leadership of the Association emphasized its readiness to assist in any capacity to further these goals.
In response, the Honourable Minister expressed appreciation for the valuable feedback and the collaborative spirit shown by the members of NAWOJ.
He also reassured the delegation of his continued efforts to ensure that Nigeria remained a peaceful, sovereign state, where business and daily life can thrive without fear. The Minister pledged to collaborate with NAWOJ whenever the need arose.
The honourable Minister also stated that NAWOJ was not new to him, recalling when he was the Governor of Jigawa State,that he partnered with NAWOJ in areas of Schools debate, promoting girl-child education and other issues that affect women.
Expressing readiness to partner With NAWOJ,he described the association as a viable instrument for sensitising women in all areas especially on tending to their children.
While commending NAWOJ on their good initiatives, he urged them to contribute to issues of national peace and security.
Members of the delegation included, the National Secretary, Wasilah Ladan, National Treasurer, Comrade Fatima Rasheed, National Auditor, Comrade Jamila Chinwe, The VP Zone D, Mrs Chizoba Ogbeche, Jigawa State Chairperson, Mrs. Hauwa Ibrahim Ladan, and other esteemed members of the great association.
Comrade Bura and her team commended the Minister and some his staff members, notably are Special Assistant Technical , General A. Jibrin rtd., Principal General Staff Officer to the minister, Brig. General Aminu Garba, the Director of information, Mr Henshaw Ogubike Mnipr FCAi Fsca Fcpe, for the warm reception.
Special prayer was offered for the success of President Tinubu’s administration.
