The Niger State Government has reiterated its commitment to partner with military veterans in ensuring a safer and more secure State.
This assurance was given by the Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, when he received a delegation of retired military officers, led by Adamu Dantani, on a courtesy visit to his office in Minna.
Welcoming the delegation, Alhaji Usman commended the veterans for their patriotic service to the nation and their renewed commitment to contribute to the security architecture of Niger State.
He encouraged them to remain united and organized as a team in order to actualize their noble objectives of supporting security and development in the State.
The SSG emphasized that the administration of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of its citizens and will continue to explore collaborations with relevant stakeholders, including veterans, with a view to complementing Government’s efforts in maintaining peace and security across the State.
He further suggested that the veterans align themselves with existing paramilitary groups and security outfits in the State, leveraging their wealth of experience, discipline and training to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness in securing communities.
While assuring them of Government’s readiness to engage their expertise, Alhaji Usman disclosed that Governor Bago would be briefed on their visit and proposals in order to explore avenues of collaboration that would foster a more secure and prosperous Niger State.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Adamu Dantani, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, pledged the loyalty and commitment of the veterans to support the State Government in its drive to secure lives and property, as well as contribute to development efforts in Niger State.
