Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has reiterated his commitment to transform the state from a civil servant-driven economy to a vibrant private sector-driven economy for the prosperity of all Nigerlites in realisation of the New Niger Agenda.
Governor Umaru Bago made this known during the expanded security meeting with stakeholders at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna.
According to him his administration has embarked on ambitious infrastructural development across the state and has prioritised its transformation to ensure food security and sustainable development.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago said his administration drew up a comprehensive intervention plan, reorganising the Ministry of Education in line with the New Niger Agenda to enable access to inclusive quality education for all, adding that the state is preparing to offer one thousand foreign scholarships to deserving youths.
The governor assured that the government is working assiduously to engage women and youth to change their social and economic status in the state and also focused on pursuing health sector objectives with vigour.
He stated that discussions are underway for a partnership with the Nigerian Army to establish the most significant aircraft maintenance and aviation unit at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, through the Pan African Business Forum.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago said through collaborative efforts with law enforcement agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders, his administration have implemented comprehensive and robust strategies aimed at combating crime, neutralising terrorists’ threats and safeguarding the states borders.
The governor also said his administration is committed to continued to invest in the training and equipping of security outfits, strengthen intelligence-gathering capabilities and fostering partnerships with neighbouring states.
