The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman is attending the 2025 Second Quarter Meeting of the Forum of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation with Secretaries to the Government of States.

The meeting, which is holding today, Wednesday, 17th September, 2025, at Crispan Hotel and Suites, Yingi, Jos, Plateau State, brings together top Government functionaries across the country to deliberate on issues central to governance and public administration.

With the theme: “Understanding the Dynamics in the Roles and Functions of Secretary to the Government of States,” the Forum seeks to deepen knowledge, promote synergy and strengthen the administrative structures of Government at both Federal and State levels.

Alhaji Abubakar Usman who was represented by ESV. James T. Bake, Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Research and Documentation, SSG’s Office while noting the significance of the meeting, emphasized that the Forum provides a critical platform for experience sharing, policy harmonization and building stronger working relationships among SGF and SSGs across Nigeria.

The SSG further noted that the outcome of the deliberations will no doubt enhance the effective coordination of Government policies, programmes and strategic documentation in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.

Alhaji Usman reaffirmed Niger State Government’s unwavering commitment under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago to strengthening institutional capacity, promoting good governance and ensuring people-centered service delivery.

According to the SSG, “This Forum is not just about meetings and discussions; it is about building bridges of understanding that will make governance more effective across our country. Niger State will continue to align with initiatives that promote transparency, accountability and sustainable development for the benefit of our people.”

The Context Setting will be delivered by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume while the meeting will be declared open by Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State.

The representative of the SSG at the meeting, ESV James T. Bake is expected to contribute Niger State’s perspectives on the thematic discourse and engage with counterparts from across the Federation on issues of inter-governmental cooperation, policy formulation and implementation.

The outcomes of the meeting are anticipated to provide a refreshed blueprint for Secretaries to State Governments in executing their mandates as the engine room of State administration and the pivotal link to the Federal Government.
