The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman has reaffirmed Government’s continued commitment to sustaining the momentum of Governor Bago’s agricultural revolution in the State.
In a message to celebrate Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, Governor of the State on being honored with the Sun Publishing Company’s prestigious Best Governor of the Year Award 2024 in Agriculture, the SSG further explained that Governor Bago’s administration has made agriculture a cornerstone of its development agenda, implementing innovative policies and programmes that have revolutionized the sector.
Under his leadership, the State has witnessed significant investments in modern farming techniques, irrigation systems, agro-processing, and farmer empowerment initiatives, Alhaji Usman pointed out.
He stressed that these efforts have not only boosted food production but also created thousands of jobs, improved rural livelihoods, and positioned Niger State as a leader in Nigeria’s agricultural revolution.
According to the SSG, “the award is a testament to Governor Bago’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth. His administration’s focus on empowering smallholder farmers, women, and youth has ensured that the benefits of agricultural growth are felt across all segments of society. Additionally, his emphasis on value addition through agro-processing has opened new markets for the State’s agricultural products, both locally and internationally”.
He revealed that the award is a well-deserved recognition of Governor’s visionary leadership and tireless efforts to transform the State into a model of agricultural excellence, adding that It is also a celebration of the hard work and resilience of the people of Niger State, who have embraced his vision and worked alongside him to achieve these remarkable results.
Alhaji Usman has expressed the gratitude of people and the Government of the State to the Sun Publishing Company for recognizing Governor Bago’s contributions and shining a light on the transformative power of visionary leadership.
