The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman accompanied His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, to a critical Stakeholders Engagement on the New Bida 20-Year Development Plan, the event which brought together traditional leaders, community stakeholders, business owners, youth representatives, and development experts to chart a sustainable path for Bida’s socio-economic transformation took place at the ancient city of Bida.
Speaking to Newsmen shortly before the commencement of the programme, the SSG emphasized that the 20-Year Development Plan is a key component of Governor Bago’s New Niger Agenda, aimed at fostering inclusive growth, modern infrastructure, agricultural advancement, and improved livelihoods.
He noted that Bida, as a major commercial and cultural hub, holds significant potential to drive development in the State, and the plan will serve as a strategic blueprint for sustainable progress.
“This engagement reflects present administration’s commitment to participatory governance. We are not just planning for Bida; we are planning with the people of Bida to ensure their needs and aspirations are embedded in this long-term vision,” Alhaji Usman stated.
The Secretary reaffirmed the State Government’s dedication to providing the necessary policy support and partnerships to ensure the successful execution of the plan.
Participants commended the government for its inclusive approach and pledged their support towards realizing the plan’s objectives.
