Niger State Government is to construct a ring road in Kontagora to further decongest vehicular traffic in the town.
The Governor disclosed this while inspecting the road projects in the Local Government area in continuation of his Statewide project monitoring tour.
He said a plan will be made for a new Kontagora city with basic social amenities in addition to recreational centres, parks, and hotels along the ring road to add aesthetics to the town.
The Governor further stated that trees will also be planted along the ring road in line with the Green Initiative of his administration.
He said the 7.8 km single-lane road constructed by the previous administration, which his administration is expanding, will have similar facilities like the ring road.
The projects inspected by the farmer Governor were the expansion work on the 7.8 km single-lane road and the ongoing 21.2 km road construction, where he made some observations and restated his commitment to ensure speedy completion of both State-owned and Federal government road projects in the area to provide succour to road users.
The Governor was at the palace of the Emir of Kontagora, Alh. Muhammad Barau Mu’azu II for royal blessings where he appreciated the love and support of the people of Kontagora in particular and the Emirate in general.
He said his administration will continue to execute more projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the Emirate, even as he announced that a befitting accommodation be constructed for the Emir in the palace.

Governor Umaru Bago had also visited Babban Rami community in Mashegu local government area where he interacted with the community members and assured them that his administration will continue to provide them with more dividends of democracy to better their lives.
He acknowledged that Mashegu local government area has the largest farmlands in the State; hence, they will have more agricultural interventions to continue to set the pace in farming activities.
In their separate remarks, Mashegu Council Chairman, Umar Jibrin, the member representing Mashegu State Constituency, Alhassan Isah, and the District Head of Babban Rami, Ismaila Muhammad Fodio, applauded the developmental strides of the Farmer Governor and reassured him of their continued support.
