Niger State Governor, Governor Mohammed Umaru has revealed that the State government will establish a Fruits market in Minna to boost the agro industry and attain socio-economic growth as well as reduce poverty in both rural and urban areas of the state
The Governor stated this when he received members of Niger State Fruit Sellers Association at the Government House Minna.
Governor Umaru Bago reiterated his administration’s commitment to the agricultural explaining that the Fruit market will help in driving the agricultural revolution of the State.
Governor Bago appreciated the Association for the gesture of giving him three thousand Orange seedlings to be planted in his farm saying, the seedlings will go a long way in boosting economic growth and development of the State
The Governor used the medium to again emphasize the need for people to venture into farming business as a major source of income because of its huge potential.
The Chairman, Niger State Fruit sellers Association Alhaji Salisu Muhammad said their visit to the Governor is aimed at appreciating him for his efforts essentially in the area of agricultural mechanization and his support to the association, which he said enhanced their fruit selling business.
He said members of the Association are willing to go to the Governor’s farm to plant the over 3,000 Orange seedlings they brought to him as a way of encouraging him to engage in fruit production.
Alhaji Muhammad expressed the Association’s continued unwavering support to the administration of the farmer Governor as he continues in his drive of improving livelihoods of the residents of the state.
