Niger State Government is to hold an Investment Summit for the year 2025.
The Commissioner for Industry, Trade, Investment, and Private Sector Development, Aminu Suleiman Takuma, revealed this during a post Council briefing held at the Government House, Minna.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hamza Sarki Bello, the Commissioner said the Governor directed that the Investment Summit should be an inclusive one to attract investments in the area of sports, renewable energy, and environment among others.
He said the Ministry is working on a robust implementation strategy, to be submitted for approval, to ensure a successful Summit.
The Commissioner also announced the commencement of Niger State Trade Fair on the 20th of May 2025.
He said discussions are ongoing with relevant institutions, to make the Trade Fair a powerful one and get the participation of major stakeholders in the State and other States.
The Commissioner further stated that the Ministry is working with other relevant MDAs, to produce a Compendium of investment negotiations of the Niger State government with various investors since the inception of this administration.
He said the Ministry is already collating, analysing and positioning the negotiations into perspectives to come up with the Compendium to serve as a point of reference.
The Commissioner also added that the Governor has directed the Ministry to produce a robust investment policy as a guided document that would guide investors in taking informed decision to invest in Niger State.
