Governor Bago Appoints New Auditor Genera.
The Executive Governor of Niger State Farmer Governor Umar Mohammed Bago has appointed Ahmed Abubakar as New Auditor General of the State Civil Service.
Conveying the appointment, the Head of Service Engineer Abubakar Y. Salisu said the appointment is on acting capacity Pending confirmation from the State House of Assembly in order to Justify the constitutional provision and also Put him test stating that his recommendation was based on his track records and commitment to hard work. He urged him to uphold confidentiality and not allow his Personal interest to interfere in his duties.
Engineer Salisu, said the office can not be left vacuum due to the importance attached to it adding that the out going Auditor General will be retiring from Service on the 25th of July, 2024.
He urged the incoming Auditor General to copy from his predecessor who contributed immensely to the Service of the State and Congratulated him on his new appointment.
The outgoing Auditor General Abdullahi Garba Abubakar while responding to newsmen, said under his tenure, he was able to make Positive Contributions to the office by computerizing the System and making services digitalized to make their operations seamless.
He thanked all his Directors and members of Staff for giving him all the necessary cooperation to Succeed as Auditor General adding that the new Auditor General will find them very interesting and will put him through all he needs to know to succeed. He urged him to remain dogged to ensure the Profession does not suffer and to overcome the challenges of Service.
The Acting Auditor General Ahmed Abubakar thanked the Farmer Governor Umar Mohammed Bago for appointing him in acting capacity as Auditor General and promised to discharge his duties to the best of his ability in accordance with the constitutional provisions.
He called on members of Staff of the office to give him all the necessary support and cooperation to Succeed in his new task in the interest of the entire Civil Service of the State.
