Niger State House of Assembly has synergised with relevant stakeholders and MDAs to establish a sports commission in the state.
The Speaker Barrister Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, disclosed this during a public hearing on a private member bill, aims to provide a legal framework for the establishment of the Niger State Sports Commission.
Represented by Member representing Bosso Constituency Architect Suleiman Abubakar Gomna the speaker commended the Chairman and members of the House Standing Committee on Sports Development for organizing the public hearing.
He also urged stakeholders to contribute and brainstorm on the bill to ensure its success.
Chairman of the Committee Zakari Ndagi Kinbokun, said that it is the mandate of the stakeholders to furnish the Committee with their inputs to ease the passage of the bill.
In his Remarks the Commissioner of Sports Development, Yahaya Gulbin Boka, said the Bill is timely and important for the development of sports in the state, saying sports is a unifying factor for peaceful development.
