The Niger State Contributory Health Agency-NiCare has officially launched the Retiree Medical Insurance Package (RMIP), demonstrating the state’s dedication to providing quality healthcare for senior citizens and retirees.
Abu-Bakr Sulayman, MPH, Executive Secretary/CEO of NiCare, expressed gratitude to retirees for their contributions, stating, “This health insurance scheme honors their years of service, ensuring they live with dignity, peace of mind, and access to quality healthcare.”
The initiative aligns with Governor Mohammad Umaru Bago’s vision for inclusive healthcare. Stakeholders, including Stephen Zita, Chairman of the Pensioners and Joint Action Committee, and Alhaji Nasiru Saidu Namaska, Director General of the Pension Board, pledged support and collaboration.
Honorable Commissioner for Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare, Dr. Bello Tukur, noted, “Many of those enrolled today played key roles in establishing NiCare during their service years… This scheme is a solution to many challenges, which we can collectively embrace.”
On-the-spot enrollments were conducted, with retirees receiving health cards within 30 days.
