Niger State Ministry of Sport Development has applauded Niger Tornadoes excellent performance at the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL Season.
The permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Doctor Nuhu Garba Ngaski, applauded the team when he received its Management led by the Chairman TMC, Engineer Ibrahim Dada Maikunkele FSNE, in his office on a courtesy visit today Monday the 1st of July 2024.
The permanent Secretary who described the performance of the team as Commendable, despite the challenges faced, said the feat wouldn’t be achieved without the efforts of the Chairman TMC, Engr Ibrahim Dada.
The permanent Secretary, who spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of the Sports Ministry said, the State Government, and the Ministry Of Sports, will continue to give the team 100 percent unflinching support, to enable it surpass the feat it has achieved, at the just Concluded NPFL Season.
He then assured that the Ministry, is working tirelessly to ensure that the Bako Kontagora Stadium Minna, home ground of Tornadoes, is ready for use, before the Commencement of the new Premier League Season ” while a new Bus, will be given to the Club, before the new season.
Responding, the Chairman of the Tornadoes Management Committee, Engr Ibrahim Dada, thanked the Commissioner, and the Permanent Secretary of the Sports Ministry, for the untiring efforts, and support accorded the team, and the Management of the Club.
Engr Dada, who described the just Concluded season as one of the most Challenging, said despite playing all the NPFL Matches away from home, by the Special grace of God, the team was able to secure it’s Status, on the Premier League..
He commended the efforts of the Technical Crew, Players and all the supporting staff for a job well done.
He then assured the State Government, and the Sports Ministry that, the team will live up to expectations in the new Premier League Season.
Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna, finished the Season in the 14th Position, winning 14 Matches, Drawing 9,
Lost 15 Matches,
Goals for 38, Goals against 41, and Garnered 51 pts, respectively.
The all important Meeting was attended by the Director Of Sports Of the Ministry, Alhaji Baba Sheshi, and the Director Admin, and top Directors of Various Departments.
