NIPR WEEKS IN ABEOKUTA: GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN PROMISES MAXIMUM SUPPORT.

The Nigeria Public Relations practitioners have reaffirmed commitment to engender professionalism in all their activities in Nigeria and beyond.

The assurance was affirmed during the opening ceremony of the Nigerian Public Relations Conference Week Held at June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta Ogun State Capital, Nigeria.

The opening ceremony which began with the introductions of icons in several field of public Relations and Media Relations Organisations, graced with several good will messages from NIPR president, President of Nigeria Guide of Editors, DG. NOA, NAN, FRCN, NTA and among others.

The Conference with the slogan “Boldly Public Relations” and the Theme: Leveraging Public Relations as a Critical Asset for Nigeria’s Economic and Reputation Renaissancen is aimed at ensuring that the public Relations Practitioners are professionally guided to carry out their public relations activities in their various organisations.

The President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Dr. Ike Neliaku Ph.D, FNIPR. introducing the Governor of Ogun State. Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, said the Institute First Week was brought to Abeokuta because it has the historical background of producing the First in Nigeria.

“NIPR brought the it first week to Abeokuta because the historical background of the ancient city in producing many first icon in Nigeria.

“We are very happy to have the presence of the Governor Dapo Abiodun and the entire Commissioner and members.”

Dr. Ike Neliaku charge the Governor, Dapo Abiodun to ensure that NIPR is given a maximum support to strive not only in Ogun State, but Nigeria as a whole, saying “to whom much is given, much is expected.”

The Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun after investiture and Decoration as the Patron of NIPR by the President of the Institute, Ike Neliaku, appraised NIPR activities in Nigeria, stressing that Public Relations is what every Nigeria leader should leverage on.

He said the Job of moving the country to the desirable stage is a collective task and everybody must join hands together to ensure that Nigeria competes with other countries all over the world.

The Governor afterwards donated Office and Bus to the state chapter of NIPR, as well as making all the NIPR Executives Adire Ambassadors by presenting everyone of them with Adire materials.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation Muhammad Idris Malagi, represented by the Director General of National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu encourage the NIPR practitioners to ensure they collaborate with other media organisations to projects and promote the image of Nigeria.

The Minister said the idea of using the second stanza of the national as an opening prayers in Nigeria Ceremony or public, and cooperate actives is to inculcate the spirit of oneness and love in Nigerians. Challenging PR practitioners to ensure that image is uphold and widely spread.

“Our national peace and unity cannot be negotiated, therefore let us as professionals be the vehicle for national image promoters.”

The first president of NIPR from the 1988 to 1993 Mazi Mike Okereke was elated that the institute is moving on Eagle wings in its achievements and growing speedily, stressing that more achievement can be covered with the same spirit.
