President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Mohammed Shehu as the Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
The appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from 20th May, 2024 in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the Commission.
President Tinubu tasks the appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment.
Shehu Mohammed takes over from Dauda Ali Biu as Corps Marshal, FRSC.
Biu was appointed as the corps marshal by ex-President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022.
Biu earlier was appointed as the acting corps marshal in July 2022 when the then corps marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, retired from the service. Before his appointment, he was the deputy corps marshal.
He hailed from the Hawul local government area of Borno State and was born in Zaria, Kaduna State.
He joined the services of the FRSC in 1988 and rose through hard work, dedication and commitment to the rank of deputy corps marshal and has held several positions of authority.
Biu holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
