Senator representing Niger North and Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Distinguished Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, on Monday, received local government chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Niger State in his office.
The delegation was led by the APC flag-bearer for Chanchaga Local Government, Dr. Mustapha Jibril, who previously served as Commissioner for Health and later Investment, Commerce, and Industry during Senator Bello’s tenure as Governor of Niger State.
The visit was part of a familiarization and consultation tour, where the candidates presented themselves to Senator Bello as a key party leader in the state—being a former governor, serving senator, and influential voice in state and national politics. The delegation included six flag-bearers from Senator Bello’s Niger North constituency.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Jibril commended the Senator for his exemplary representation, describing his legislative contributions and leadership as inspiring. He noted that Senator Bello’s influence continues to bring pride and visibility to Niger State at the national level.
In his remarks, Senator Sani Bello applauded Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for his inclusive and strategic leadership in ensuring that competent and credible candidates emerged as the APC’s standard-bearers for the upcoming November 2025 council elections.
He advised the aspirants to remain loyal to the party’s ideals and align with Governor Bago’s transformation agenda. “For the party to remain strong and victorious, unity and loyalty must be non-negotiable,” he emphasized.
Senator Bello assured them of his continued support and availability for mentorship and guidance, wishing them success at the polls.
