The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Niger state chapter has commended Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for appointing Alhaji Danjuma Abdul Masu as the pioneer Chairman of Niger State Sports Commission (NSSC).
The association has equally congratulated Danjuma Abdul Masu for his appointment to head the newly established Commission which before now has been operating under the name, Niger State Sports Council (NSSC) under Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The appointment of Danjuma Masu to head the new Commission, SWAN said is a case of having a round peg in a round hole as it will bring about desired change in sports sector of the state economy.
Masu who is very passionate about sports as he has been supportive to the growth and development of sports will bring to fore his wealth of experience in revamping the sector to enviable heights.
SWAN describes the appointment of Masu as not only strategical but underscore the Bago led administration’s commitments to revitalizing sporting infrastructure, foster talents development and as well position the state as a hub for different kinds of sports.
SWAN is confident that the pioneer Sports Commission chairman possesses the requisite experience, passion, and leadership qualities to transform the sports landscape of the state and make it more responsive to the need and aspirations of people in Niger state.
With Masu taking charge of sports sector, SWAN expresses optimism that under his leadership, Niger state will reclaim its position as a leading sports hub in Nigeria.
