The Scholarship offered to 100 Students from Niger State by the Government of Saint Petersburg, Russia is not limited to Russian Language studies but encompasses all Courses offered, with emphasis on sciences ,especially mining.
The programme aims to foster educational collaboration between St. Petersburg and Niger State, promoting knowledge exchange and capacity building in key sectors such as mining and related sciences.
It is also expected of the beneficiaries of this scholarship to acquire valuable skills and expertise and contribute their quota to the development of Niger State’s mineral resources and other scientific fields.
The Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov who acknowledged the developmental strides of the Governor also assured the Government of Niger State of Russia’s continued support to help the farmer Governor achieve his goals of improving the lives of the citizenry especially through the agricultural and mining sectors.
Governor Umaru Bago who led a delegation from Niger State on the invitation of the Governor of St. Petersburg has engaged in series of discussions and partnership agreements aimed at improving the lives of the people of Niger State through some critical sectors of the economy.
He described the idea of the Russian Government to offer scholarship to Nigerlites as unprecedented and will further enhance his administration’s relationship with the Eastern European powerhouse.
Governor Umaru Bago remains resolute in the relationship between his Government and Russia as the partnership between both parties will open up room for rapid development in line with the new Niger agenda.
